Roasted nuts have a rich earthiness that pairs so well with sweet, mildly-tart berry flavors. It reminds me of a pie… but, in this case, it’s in salad form.
Yes, I know that sounds weird, but let’s go with it.
Strawberries and pecans are a classic combination. And once you add a little goat cheese and some greens tossed in a creamy dressing, you will have yourself the PERFECT salad.

Ok, now that you have your perfect ingredients ready, let’s talk about this AWESOME salad!
Are strawberries good for Keto?
First thing’s first: are strawberries good for a keto diet?
100 grams of strawberries have 7.7 grams of carbs and 2 grams of fiber, leaving us with 5.7 net carbs. This serving size also has 4.9 grams of sugar.
I usually measure out 60-80 grams of strawberries for this salad. Of course, you can adjust the serving size based on your macros. This may not seem like a lot of fruit. Depending on their size, 75 grams may only be a few strawberries.
The key to making your strawberries go a long way is cutting them into slices. Strawberries have a vibrant flavor that stands out against the other ingredients. By slicing them up, you’ll end up with way more bites that include that strong strawberry taste.
Overall, berries are your best bet when it comes to low-carb fruits. That’s why I love making my berry nut salads!

How to make a strawberry and pecan salad
This salad comes together in about 10 minutes. Just chop your ingredients, then pan-roast the pecans while you assemble the rest of the salad.
- Wash and slice the strawberries.
- Roughly chop the pecans.
- In a small skillet over low heat, add the chopped pecans. Spray lightly with cooking spray and add a pinch of salt, then stir to combine.
- Continue cooking on low heat, stirring occasionally, as you assemble the rest of the salad. The pecans are done once they are lightly toasted, about 5 minutes.
- As the pecans cook, add the lettuce to your salad bowl.
- Add 1 tbsp of dressing, then toss to combine.
- Add the strawberry slices and goat cheese.
- Once the pecans are done, remove from heat and add the stevia extract drops (if you don’t have extract drops, replace with 1 tbsp granulated sweetener). Stir to combine.
- Add the pecans to the salad and serve!
That’s it! I love how simple this salad is to throw together.
Depending on how like your pecans, you’re welcome to make them even sweeter. I recommend adding the sweetener slowly and tasting as you go so you don’t end up with overly-sweetened nuts.
